President
Name: Kathy Anderson

Brief Bio:
My interest in skiing flourished when I became a member of Caledon Ski Club in 1989. Once retired, I was available to ski on Thursdays and was keen to broaden my selection of places to ski. I joined Skicousi in 2017 and am continually delighted by the opportunities for lessons, group lunches, après parties, and long trips to fabulous North American and European destinations. The best part of Skicousi is the amazing and fun new people I meet every season! As President, I will do my best to ensure that everyone has a fun and enjoyable experience. ⛷️💕
Past President
Name: Doreen Garner

Brief Bio:
When I moved from Calgary in 2001, I thought my skiing days were over. Hearing about the small hills in Collingwood, skiing was not very enticing. My neighbour Suzanne Davis invited me to a Skicousi day, and I was pleasantly surprised. The next year I joined and have loved the wonderful friendships (oh yes and the skiing too.) I have gone on the trips every year just to quench my thirst for the mountains. Over the years I have been on the Board in various roles. I look forward to continuing to work with these committed fellow skiers.
Vice-President
Name: Jan Pearson

Brief Bio:
I have been a Skicousi member since 2023 and have enjoyed skiing Thursdays, the short trips and most recently, Pragelato, Italy. I joined Skicousi as several members at the Caledon Ski Club mentioned that it is a fantastic group of people to ski and socialize with. I certainly haven’t been disappointed! Looking forward to another great ski season and the Big White trip!!
Secretary
Name: Pamela Maxwell

Brief Bio:
After 20 years of convincing myself that I didn’t miss skiing, Jan Stringer encouraged me to join Skicousi several years ago and I am forever grateful! The instructors have been fantastic, and the value of the lessons (financial and psychological) priceless. Winter Thursdays are now defined by a great day of skiing and socializing filled with endless laughs and memories in the making. What a great way to meet so many people that all share the love of the outdoors. I am very excited to be on the Skicousi Board. I will now be able to give something back to such a supportive and welcoming group of skiers/boarders/snowshoers.
Treasurer
Name: Diane Lucas

Brief Bio:
I have been with Skicousi since 2014. I took up skiing a little later in life and have found the lessons to be of great value and have allowed me to continue to improve my skiing technique over the years. Being able to ski at the private clubs on a weekday and avoid the long lineups on the weekends at Blue Mountain is a big plus. I have enjoyed long ski trips offered each year since joining. It’s great to get out on the mountains, enjoy the skiing and the camaraderie. Now that I am retired, and have the time, it is rewarding to give back to the club.
Ski School Director
Name: Christine Eades

Brief Bio:
My involvement with Skicousi began as a ski instructor in the nineties. Since 2018, I’ve enjoyed my role as the Snow School Director. I come to Skicousi as a lifetime member of the Caledon Ski Club where I am currently coaching both Adults and Children. I’m passionate about skiing and love to share that passion with others. In the off season, I can be found honing my golf skills at the Devils Pulpit.

Brief Bio:
I have been skiing for years and, although I love being outside on the slopes, I wasn’t a very confident skier. After a bad ski accident I thought about hanging up my skis for good until my friend, Kate Greenfield, encouraged me to join Skicousi and take lessons. She enticed me by saying the instructors are fabulous, the private ski hills are amazing and not the least bit crowded, and the members are incredible. So, I joined. In just one year with Skicousi, I went from thinking about hanging up my skis to becoming a Level 1 Certified Ski Instructor! Needless to say, when I heard Skicousi was looking for volunteers to be Board Members, I jumped right in! Looking forward to another terrific year!
Social Convenors
Name: Laura Smith (Long Trip Coordinator)

Brief Bio:
Skicousi …… what can I say about this fabulous ski club? I joined in 2017, on my own, after wanting to get back into skiing (after 16 years away)! On my first day riding the bus, I met Barb Anderson …. the rest is history! 🤣 The Skicousi bus is a safe, easy way to get to the clubs every week. It is always full of great energy. I took group lessons which enhanced my skills, and I met more people! I joined the volunteer board to give back to this group that was becoming so important to me! As Social Coordinators, Barb and I love adding the sparkle and fun to our ski Thursdays! 🥳 Recently I’m wearing a new hat – Long Trip Coordinator! I took my first group (2025) to Sun Peaks! It was a great success, so this year (2026) we are heading to Big White! But the best part of Skicousi …. the people who make up this club are truly wonderful!! 💜Once you are a part of it you realize it is absolutely the best way to embrace winter!! ⛷️🥳❄️⛷️❄️🥳⛷️❄️🥳

Brief Bio:
When I was 7 years old my parents started our whole family skiing in a little club near Peterborough, Ontario. It was wood skis, bear trap bindings and lace up boots. Luckily, we spent several years living in and near the Rockies, hence, my lifetime love of skiing. With the kids and my career trying to interrupt my sport, I begged to trade kids with people so I could even get a day alone skiing! Fast forward many decades and I finally have found a group of like-minded individuals. I am now retired I have time to enjoy Skicousi along with old friends and new. Looking forward to continuing partnering with Laura planning social events for the upcoming ski season.

Long Trip Coordinator
Name: Elizabeth Fab

Brief Bio:
I began skiing when my child was young to participate in and enjoy a family sport for the winter season. My husband has skied all his life while I still struggle to feel confident on the slopes. I joined Skicousi as a means to explore different ski terrains. I enjoy the lessons and support Skicousi offers to their members of diverse levels. Skicousi provides a place to learn and to play on the slopes on my own terms. I look forward to the challenges of being a long trip coordinator.

Henry is my legal first name. Michael is my social name. Call me “Michael”. Henry is my legal first name. Michael is my social name. Call me “Michael”.
On July 2, 2011, I was having dinner with a lovely woman while on a blind date, never having met her previously. At one point she cheekily asked: “I downhill ski in winter, what are you going to do?” So, I responded, “I’ll learn!”. She laughed so hard that she choked on her food and said, “You can’t! You’re 62 years old!”. For Christmas that year, I received four private ski lessons with one of Caledon’s top instructors as a gift from her. Three months later, in April, I was skiing on black diamond runs at Sunshine in Banff. I’ve been loving the sport ever since. And I also got my revenge: I married the woman! Since we retired, we ski three to four times at week at Caledon and at all the private clubs with Skicousi. We love the group, love the skiing, love the events and love the travel. It’s a privilege to be of service. I will continue to do what I can to contribute to the ongoing success of Skicousi.

Name: Jan Stringer (Honourary Life Member)

Brief Bio:
I joined Skicousi in 1986 after skiing for only two years. I joined the lesson program which I really enjoyed and got to make a lot of new friends. It also made me keep going even when the conditions were not perfect. I was still in lessons in 2018, but my skiing started to slow down, and my confidence level was waning.
I volunteered for the Vice Presidents position in 1988, then moved on to President, Past President and finally Membership, which I was doing until 2024 year when I retired from the board. I do not ski anymore but I still join the group on ski days and volunteer when and where help is needed. Skicousi is such a great and welcoming Club, and I have made a great many long-lasting friends.

We’d like you to meet the team of talented people behind the scenes. They contribute their time as volunteers to enhance your experience with the Skicousi Club. Let’s thank them.
